Having Daisy back safely in his arms was a feeling he had never felt before. The feeling of relief was so powerful, it felt more than he could handle at the moment, but he hugged her to him anyway. Thankful this whole ordeal was over, hopefully for good this time. He had barely processed how she had gotten here, trapped in his embrace, worried about them. He was immobile and then he wasn’t and then Mulciber had shoved him aside and there was some girlish whining going on and then before he knew it Daisy was free and Nott was leaving. Good riddance.
The other blonde stayed for only a moment more, to through insults and warnings their way, and then she was gone too. He released his girlfriend now that it felt safer just in time to throw an arm out and steady James, who swayed on his feet. It was a friendly gesture but his face was harder now. “How can you say that?” he asked, linking his fingers with Daisy’s and pulling her closer to his side. “We don’t know what will happen now that we’ve antagonized them. Who knows what they will do for revenge.” The fear and anger was clear in his voice. No longer for himself and his friends, but her the redhead he called his own. He never had anything that was just his and she was and he couldn’t even protect her. It was done now though, and it was useless arguing about it at the moment. “Come on.” he said, feeling the need to be in the relative safety of the castle. One hand still held Daisy’s, the other he placed under Jame’s arm to help him along, he started up the way. “Let’s just hope Remus hasn’t already called in the calvary and round three doesn’t startup. I’ve only got one good punch in me and I’ve used it already today.”
