"I'm sorry, Luce." Seeing Luci's face fall so dreadfully sent a pang of regret through the Dutchman's heart, and he exchanged a look with his cousin, wondering if perhaps they had been too quick to shut her down. They could do something to make this up to her, couldn't they? Find her a one-of-a-kind souvenir during these travels? Or when they returned to school, he could repaint her room, the rippling blues of the sea or the falling dusk of the sky? Or, an entertained inner voice piped up, fix her up. She and Marcel had given their romance a try, and perhaps they needed a push to do so again. Being outside of their usual space could do the trick, no? Or, if they were truly finished, could something with Fitz be arranged during this trip? Thankfully, the girl was soon giggling - he flashed her a grin as her drink did its trick - and shrugged at her suggestion that he and Jules control themselves. With any luck, they'd be saying the same to her soon.
He watched, content in the growing crowd, as Fitz joined them - greeting Luci specifically - and even as Felix followed, he gave Eli a little shake of his head. Sure, he and his girlfriend's ex were not bound to be the best of friends, but wasn't it time to put the past behind them? If he and Addie - who arrived shortly as well, he raised his glass to her in welcome - could coexist, even through her and Eli's relationship, surely he and Felix could. Felix and Addie seemed to be on their wavelength, the two dorms colliding in common mission tonight, and it was all he could do to keep his laughter inside at the turn of events. While he knew the girl was likely feeling embarrassed, and he couldn't blame her, Esp hoped she felt extraordinarily loved as well.
"Let's do it," Espen assented at Eli's suggestion, hoping that continuing the night together would help do the trick for some would-be-lovebirds. "About time we ditched them, don't you think?" he asked, nodding to a corner of the pub. Having their chaperones over their shoulders was helpful sometimes, absolutely, especially with his tendency to be directionally challenged. But of all of their professors, these two intimidated the hell out of him, and he was sure he wouldn't be the only one more relaxed outside of their eye. Someone in their party would get them to their hotel when the night was done, Espen felt with full confidence.
