Back Story: Lucius Malfoy was born in the spring of 1954, the only child of Abraxas and Rumer Malfoy. He was born into a long time of purebloods, the Malfoy name being known and even feared throughout the wizarding world. From a young age, Lucius was taught how the world worked. He was enrolled in a wizard primary school, and was able to easily distinguish the proper purebloods from those that sympathized with lesser sorts of wizards and witches. He attended pureblood parties, always having ladies woo-ing over him and his charming good looks.

He knew he was going to be rich, successful, and happy. It was simply the way of the world.

He excelled in everything that his parents required he learn, and he helped his father from a young age run his families Apothecary business. He was ever the diligent and proper son, standing by his father's side and never speaking unless spoken to. When he turned 11, it was not a surprise for him to receive his letter to Hogwarts.

Just as it was no surprise that he was sorted in Slytherin, as his parents had been before him. He was a quick learner, doing well in all his classes - particularly potions. It was clear that Slughorn (although an idiot of a person) was quite fond of Lucius, and he used that to his advantage. He began to date very early on, sticking to those who were of a proper blood lineage.

In fifth year he was selected to be a prefect, again, another thing that he was not surprised to learn. After all, he was the best canidate for the job. From a high ranking family that was independently weathly, Lucius Malfoy was perfect. He maintained his high grades and his standing as one of the most eligible men in all of pureblood society.

But in his seventh year, when he was finally selected to be Head Boy, his eligible status was put on hold. While he made no attempts to be only with his possible finance, he did his duty as he was directed to by his parents. His relationship with Andromeda Black was kept a secret, as they arrangement between their families had yet to be finalized. He wasn't fond of her, however. She had a dazzling and intimidating older sister who was a perfect specimen of pureblood superiority, but Bellatrix was already betrothed to Roldphus Lestrange. Andromeda was the obvious choice for him, but she didn't care for him. It was baffling, for her to not desire him as so many others did.

And it was with much relief to him that she ran away after their graduation from school. His parents were distressed, particularly that she had chosen a muggle born over their perfect son. It wasn't easy, but he was able to convince them that she had been a bad seed the whole time and that giving up on the Black Family wasn't in their best interest.

After all, there was still Narcissa.

The youngest of the Black daughters, Lucius had always found Narcissa to be positively perfect. Blonde and beautiful, she simply seemed to be the best match for him. And after she convinced her parents the same, the two began openly dating during her last two years of school. He made sure her engagement ring was flashy, as his wife would only have the best, and their lavish ceremony was the best wedding in the entire wizarding world. While he does he best to remain faithful (any mistresses are incredibly discreet), he is not as caring of a husband as he could be. He does, however, love Narcissa fiercly and care for her deeper than he has ever cared for another human.
