Why did his best mate have to go on about it? “Just leave it alone.” He said holding his hands out imploringly. He didn’t want anything getting messed up with Carolyn, and if it did it would be his fault, he didn’t want anyone else to blame. “If she comes talk to you, you will just say you know nothing about my feelings for her. Clear?” He wasn’t being mean, it was a more of a ‘please don’t challenge me on this’. Luckily his friend held his hands up and he didn’t press any further about his sudden attraction to one Miss Wilkes. He lay back on his friends bed, thinking of the girl in question. She had taken him completely by surprise, before they were housemates and then Willa, and he had been so closed off, and then suddenly it was Carolyn. She was mysterious in a subtle way, and had interesting points of view. “Bugger it all! I’m in so deep already.” The boy sat up, jumped off the bed, wrapped his arm around the post and gave his friend a grin. “Halloween isn’t too far off and you know it’s all downhill from there.” Benji warned and was pleased when his friend caught on that the time was nearing. He hadn’t even begun his present search it seemed, tsk tsk. The boy was growing restless, all this serious talk, now he just wanted to hang out with Arnie and have a laugh. Benji strode over to his trunk as if nothing was amiss, rummaged around, and before long pulled out a large black sack. “How about we go up and see who can best who in a game of Student Dungbomb toss?”

After Arnie resigned himself to not doing anything about the Carolyn situation for now, Benj fell back, musing. The other bloke chomped on the rest of the beans until his friend sprung up. He didn't bother stopping the laugh that roiled out of him at Benji's distress at having feelings. Right, so things hadn't gone his way last time, but Carolyn was a completely different lass than the Hufflepuff. Arnie was sure it'd be different this round. Much better. "Can't dig yourself out now, might as well just jump on in, already a lost cause," he teased, giving the lovesick puppy a grin as the other stood, hanging off of his bed. He laughed, choking on a bean, as Benji dramatically declared the suddenness of the approaching winter holiday. Coughing to clear his airway, Arn scrunched up the bag and tossed the little that was left onto his nightstand. Merlin was he glad for this. Fantastic Friday night this had started out, but here they were! Out of nowhere, they were back. He watched as Benji went across to his trunk, back to laughing as his friend challenged him. "Why would you suggest something you'll just lose? Suppose I could give you a fighting chance, just this once." Arnie - completely joking, the two were matched equally in most everything - essentially jumped off of his bed in his eagerness to continue jesting with his friend, grabbing his own bag of dungbombs from his trunk. Following Benji out, the Ravenclaws headed up to their usual lookout to pelt unlucky students also out after hours, a closely scoring match ensuing.
