Dear Roderick,

I'm sorry I haven't written, and that I missed your birthday. It was so soon after saying goodbye that, truly, I couldn't bear it. I knew I would say things that I shouldn't, not when we agreed this is for the best. But I hope you don't mind this note today. I made this for you - it's just a little something, and I know it's silly, but I thought that maybe it could fit in your new kitchen? It's all the flavors we made, and much less messy. If you get close, you'll find the scents charmed in. I don't think they'll remain forever, but I did my best. I hope it will make you smile when you look at it.

I know that you will have a beautiful holiday with your family, and I like to imagine that training has been just what you've dreamed. You're going to be the most brilliant Healer ever, I know it. Please make sure to take the best care of yourself too. I miss you so much more than I could've imagined. Do you feel this too? Did we make a mistake? I've been thinking and, if it's not too much to ask, do you think we could write each other sometimes? Let me know or, I suppose, if I don't hear from you I'll take that as your answer. Happy Christmas, Roderick.
