Back Story:
Gideon’s childhood was easy and carefree. He was born with a built in best friend, someone to share all his life with and that made for constant amusement. Molly was a constant as well, half mothering, half bossing them around, all love and fun. With his sister on one side, full of fiery spirit coupled with a kind heart, and his brother on the other, charming with a flare for entertainment, Gideon had to find his own place in the family. It didn’t give him too much pain though, he naturally took on the role as the reasonable one. It kept him and his brother out of trouble…mostly. Well, he couldn’t be reasonable all the time. He was a Prewett after all, and that came with a reckless streak too strong to be beat by any learned inclination for safety. Hell, half of their most insane ventures were his idea! In any case, whatever they did, they did together.
Even when they made it to Hogwarts you could more than likely find them together. They took on the castle as a team, carving their place into it’s histories with their aptitude for magic -Defense in particular, but they faired well in all of their classes, Transfiguration and Charms for Gideon were also strong suits. The twins still did most things together, but it was not unheard of for them to be apart. Fabian had his pastimes and his own set of people that fit his personality just right. Gideon for his part enjoyed learning more obscure branches of magic in his spare time, running, and had formed a tight group of friends of his own over the years. Then there were all the friends they shared together, with so many companions, it turns out that even when he isn’t one half of the whole with Fabian, he had someone to pal around with. He grew to love so many people and it nurtured his protective spirit.
It was an easy decision after Hogwarts to sign up for auror training with his brother, with so many friends and family that needed looking after and the climate of their world steadily growing darker. They could do something about it, they could help. He thought working with the Ministry, being another set of boots on the ground, that would satisfy his need to make use of his talents. But soon after he completed his qualifications another opportunity was offered to him and that line of work was even more appealing than the first. Gideon felt that working with the Order, that was a calling of sorts, one he was up for. It was less constrictive than being an auror which he liked very much, and it was more rewarding. He plans to do everything in his power to end this blasted war and when he does, he intends to celebrate by sitting down with a good book and a nice cup of tea to watch the sunset every day for the rest of his days on the beautiful world he helped create.
