April 1974 Sometimes he questioned his life choices. Sometimes, being a librarian or a shop keep or literally anything else other than an auror in training seemed like the choice he should have made. Gideon groaned as he peeled his jumper off, his hair sticking at odd ends with a fair amount of sweat and too much static electricity. Even when they weren’t in proper training, they were training. Today, they had worked on their physical fitness. Possibly Gideon’s least favorite part. Sure, it was alright while he was doing it, it felt nice even; it was the aftermath that made him question his sanity. By all things holy he felt like he’d been trampled by the express! “Fabian,” he began, turning to his twin with a hard stare. “Next time the word's five miles comes out of your mouth, remind me to hit you.”
Who knew running, at length, gave your whole body such a workout? He didn’t. Or if he had known, from the several months they had been training, he had forgotten. He felt like such an idiot for his initial excitement. Hadn’t he even said ‘Beautiful day for a run, innit?’ What, an, idiot. Gideon collapsed onto their worn couch with a sigh, pulling his hair back into a band, already planning the soak he was going to indulge in to ease his aches. He was hurting, true, but he also felt oddly invigorated. And, now that they had done their daily duty to their craft, they had an entire day free. A rarity as of late. They could do any number of things with this time, including going their separate ways, but Gid didn’t want that. Not today.
No, today he was feeling a little nostalgic, he was missing their friends, and he was missing his brother. They did live and work together but since they had embarked on this new life course it felt like they had no time for fun together, or with their friends. That’s what he wanted, but if Fabian wanted something different, there wasn’t much he could do about that. “So, any plans today?”

Fabian chuckled, looking at his brother as he let them into their flat. Five miles was a lot, and yet at the same time, it wasn’t that bad. He could have planned a longer run! But quite honestly, he didn’t want to run any more than they had today. Even though they were fit from almost three years of Auror training, Fabian still wasn’t the biggest fan of cardio. Still, they couldn’t slack on their day off, so a run had seemed like the best course of action. “Hey, it wasn’t that bad. Those muggle girls having brunch certainly liked what they saw,” he teased. He tossed his keys onto the kitchen counter, then proceeded to grab them both a glass of water. If he felt like nitpicking it, Gideon had been the one who suggested a run in the first place, commenting on how nice the weather was. For April, a non-rainy day was not to be spent laying around indoors. He sank down on the couch next to his brother, handing over the water. Now that they had the run out of the way, it had come to the decision of what else to do on their beautiful day off. Phoebe was probably at school, which meant it was likely Kyra was too. Edgar would probably be free if they asked him if he wasn’t taking the morning to sleep in with Sadie. He chugged his glass of water, setting it on their makeshift coffee table as his brother piped up. It seems like once again they were on the same page, both thinking about what to do. It also meant Fabian was assuming his brother was also thinking about how long it’d been since they’d done something proper together, just the two of them. “No plans yet, what do you have in mind?” he asked with a grin. There was plenty of trouble they could get into if they so desired, and his mind was already working through their options. Something not related to work, they needed a break from that. It was too early for a pub, although never too early to find girls to flirt with. Normally on a nice day, Fabian would ride the motorcycle to the countryside, or maybe even pop in on Molly to see how she was doing. “Better question, how much trouble are we getting into?”

“Oh yeah, they did.” Gideon agreed with a grin, thinking back to the group of attractive girls they had managed to turn the heads of. It had been a highlight of their run and again, cardio wasn’t really all that bad, but still some good-looking girls giving you eyes, that would make anything better. The couch sagged beside him as his twin took a seat, giving up a much needed glass of water. “Thank you.” he said gratefully before tipping it back and drinking it down in one go. "Mmm refreshing." He wiped a trickle of water that had escaped down his chin and sat the glass next to Fabians, smiling at his twins response. This is exactly what he was looking for today. If Fab had wanted to do other things he would have respected that but he admitted to being very happy that his brother was available and seemed down to hang. Tugging one leg under the other he turned to Fabian fully, resting his head on the back of their very comfy couch. He was trying to think of a suitable suggestion when his twin forced a chuckle from him. It was true that they didn’t get into nearly as much trouble as they had in their younger years -while they were in Hogwarts for instance- they could still kick up a ruckus when they wanted. They were older now though and the things they used to do just didn't hold the same amusement as they used to. Well, not all the things they used to do... “Nothing to get arrested for. Let’s keep it low-key.” He decided, not really wanted to run from the police after their five-mile run this morning. Too much running. But what to do? “Um, later, we should definitely get Ed, hit the pub, maybe the girls, too. Should we go see Moll’s while we have time? Sometimes I feel like a bad brother, I should visit more. I’ve been meaning to take Arthur that blender I found in the bin.”
