WIZARDING APPLICATION
VITAL INFO
Character Name: Wilhemina (Willa) Rae Robbins
Date of birth: June 21
Age: 18
Father: Nathaniel (Nate) Robbins (44, wizard, Owl Post)
Mother: Margaret (Maggie) Robbins (43, muggle, muggle post)
Siblings: Alexander (21, ex- Ravenclaw, Gringott's worker), Jocelyn (15, muggle)
Bloodline: Halfblood
Back Story: The Robbins family is quite new to the wizarding world; Nate's abilities were the first that the family had seen, and it took an extreme amount of convincing on his part for his parents to part with him on that first September 1st at King’s Cross. After a moderately-successful Hogwarts career, he found that his Care of Magical Creatures training could pay off by working for the Owl Post. Twenty-some years later he works as a manager at the Owl Post Office of England after many years as a caretaker, owl trainer, and as an undercover Muggle-Post-Investigator because of his upbringing. He and Maggie met while he was doing investigative work on the ways of the Muggle postal system, specifically the purpose of stamps, as she was on her route as a postal carrier. She was charmed by the young man’s eager and inquisitive ways, and they developed a relationship and married soon after.
Nate kept the secret of his wizardry from his wife for many years; as his family were Muggles as well, hiding it was quite easy, and she had spent enough time at her postal office to not need to inquire too much about his. Once little Alex started displaying his unique talents, however, Nate came clean. It was a rather rude awakening for Maggie, but over time she’s gotten more used to the idea of magic (And the household magic Nate would use? Such a time-saver that she wished he’d told her sooner!).
Thus, Willa grew up in as the middle child of a mixed household, one foot in the Muggle world and one foot in the Wizarding one. Trips to the London Zoo as well as Diagon Alley were as frequent as possible with two heavily-working parents. The Robbins children were taught to value hard work, earning their own way, and thriftiness above all but love of friends and family, and saw this daily with their parents remaining positive and loving while struggling to support them. Willa developed magical abilities like her older brother, and a few years after he was accepted at Hogwarts as a Ravenclaw, she followed and proudly joined Hufflepuff House. Their younger sister Jocelyn took after their mother in both look and magical ability, and is now the only child at home. While she was shy as a child, Hogwarts has been good for Willa’s social growth, and she’s come into herself over the past few years. Absolutely at home within Hufflepuff, she enjoyed the friends she made there and in other Houses, and kept busy with friends, schoolwork, and her Gobstones Club presidency, and duty as a prefect.
Friends came from unexpected places, sometimes, and she treasures them all. The one love that has been with her since childhood is Herbology and everything that surrounds it - she's always had a green thumb, and while at Hogwarts assisted Professor Sprout as much as she could in order to bulk up her knowledge and experiences. She prides herself on the experiences she'd had at Hogwarts outside of the classroom; as academics aren't her strongest, she did her best to get involved and take advantage of opportunities that came her way. Willa is sweet-natured and upbeat, and can also laugh at herself and admit when she’s made mistakes. She’s been becoming more comfortable with herself and is now much more outgoing than when she arrived at Hogwarts. She is particularly patient, which assisted her not only in Potions and Herbology but also with relationships with others, such as when helping the younger Hufflepuffs with their work, which she loved. Even though she may not have been the best at academics either, encouragement goes a long way in her opinion, and sometimes that’s all that’s needed to help the younger students. She gives people the benefit of the doubt perhaps too often in her attempt to see the best in everyone. In stressful and high pressured situations she is flustered easily, which may be why her marks in Defense Against the Dark Arts were consistently lower than her usual ones. She’s friendly with everyone she meets, but has trouble making close friendships and opening up. Once you've earned her trust, though, you have earned it for life.
As she leaves Hogwarts, Willa sees her closest friends heading to exciting and dangerous lives in the Order. With no thoughts of that for herself, she hopes that she can stay close with them as they embark on their next adventure. She wants - not a quiet life, but one full of love, and is looking for her partner.
