Back Story: The Nott family had always been one of the Sacred 28. In fact, they were so perfect and pure that in the 1930's, Cantankerous Nott wrote actually created the list of the sacred 28 to signify the only families that could be considered pure. And when the Dark Lord started rising to power? Obviously the Nott family was part of his following from the very beginning.
Cantankerous and Isolde Nott, both eager to continue the pure line from which they came, got married and gave birth to a daughter. They named her Bronwyn, a name that means pure, to show their loyalty to being pureblooded.
As most pureblooded children, she lead a lavish and spoiled life as a child. She was the only daughter, the heir to the legacy that Cantankerous would eventually leave behind. And so she had private tutors to teach her proper etiquette, she was given piano lessons from a young age, as well as proper instruction on how be...persuasive. While she may be a girl, her father expected nothing less than he would of a son. She was not to let anyone treat her as anything less than perfect.
When she was accepted into Hogwarts and sorted into Slytherin, her family was ecstatic. It was obvious that she would be placed there, surrounded by other purebloods who would continue to point her in the right direction. But what the family didn't consider was that Isolde's brother, the estranged family member, had gotten married and had a child. A daughter.
In Bronwyn's second year, a girl named Pandora Nott was sorted into Ravenclaw. Obviously, this caused her some distress, as while Ravenclaw was an acceptable house, how could she have a cousin she didn't know about? Many letters were exchanged with her parents, and eventually, she approached the first year.
Only to find out how incredibly strange the girl was. Still, while Pandora didn't seem to have a good head on her shoulders, and was associated with less than savory types, she was family. Which meant that it was up to Bronwyn to make sure Pandora was kept on the right path.
It became apparent after a few years that her spacey cousin was a lost cause when it came to trying to persuade her, as the girl simply didn't have enough brainpower to be a Death Eater. Luckily, the girl associated with enough purebloods to not be a waste of space, and so Bronwyn stayed in contact and made sure that her housemates kept their filthy paws off her cousin.
After graduation, her father helped her secure a spot within the ministry. While it wasn't her first choice, it was a decent enough cover for her while she was accepted into the Death Eaters and began her real passion - recruiting.
