"Just got a feeling," Ed said with a beaming grin, no good reason behind his assumption besides...f*ck, like I'd know how to raise a girl! Whoever their child was, Ed would love it to bits - but he thought he'd be best suited to raising a house of roughhousing boys. Sure, he would throw his daughter around too, but there'd be something absolutely mad about seeing a little boy running around who sort of looked like him...He held his soon-to-be wife warmly as talk turned to funds and promotions, not missing the subtle shift in her as he spoke of becoming an Agent. She'd been amazing in these last months of supporting him and this dream, and he didn't want her to ever regret taking him up on this life...But if they were going to live in peace, someone had to fight for it. Ed kissed her temple, chuckling. "They'd be loony not to reward you," he assured. Phoebe was beyond brilliant - one of the things that made her being with him truly so remarkable - and should be running the firm she worked for. She could still pursue that and be a parent, couldn't she?...I'll gladly stay at home with the kids, once all of this is done.
It was one thing to let the expectant woman know about his siblings, but a whole other thing to let her in on the terror he'd been as a small child. While they'd grown up mere houses apart from each other, it wasn't as if they'd hung out as babies. She'd hardly missed out. "Aw, babe, I'm trying to not scare you off," he admitted with a laugh, leaning his head against hers. It really shouldn't be a concern - if she was going to leave him, Phoebe would've done so this summer - but this was a conversation Ed hadn't thought they'd be having so soon. Roddy and Millie had had their magical tantrums, scared Mum and Dad half to death with things once or twice, but he...hadn't been the easiest toddler. "Nearly killed Mum with worry most days, until she got used to it or started trusting me," Ed admitted. "Heights were my thing, started flying as soon as I could, but before then she'd find me out of reach - er - quite a lot. Never knew how I wound up anywhere, but I'd just be exploring and get 'dangerously' high up. But yeah, I'd be shocked if our baby didn't carry the magic with it. Pretty rare, but they're called squibs, kids born to a magical parent. Don't get to go to Hogwarts and such, pretty shite luck. We'll know before too long after it's born, we all started showing when we were in our cribs yet."
The bloke yawned widely and laid down, patting the space next to him for Phoebe, but laughed tiredly as Sadie zoomed into the space instead. "Ignoring you, are we?" He stretched an arm out to pet the poor girl, other arm going behind his head as he smiled up at Phoebe. We're having a baby. "I can't wait to tell everyone. When can we start doing that?"
