HISTORY
Benji grew up in a flat in muggle London. It was not the ideal place to be raising two magical children, but Benji loved it anyway. The people, the shops, the lights at night. To the small boy muggles seemed to be the magical ones with all the ways they came up with to live comfortably without magic. He spent eight blissful years above living above a pub, middle-class and happy about it; and then his father landed a job as a first class broom-maker and so moved his family out of London and into the rolling countryside of Cheshire. For Athena his older sister it wasn’t much of a change, she went away to Hogwarts shortly after, but for Benji it was possibly the worse thing in his short little life.
Eventually he got use to the quiet dull life of living in a cottage in the middle of no-where so to speak. He missed his friends and the barman whom he used to live above, the dotty old geezer. But there were advantages to being so far away from other humans, and Benji took full use of them. Waking up early and staying up late and exploring the lands that seemed to stretch out forever. But most of all it allowed him to practice his magic freely, without fear of making something accidently move in front of the muggles. It mellowed the usual rowdy boy out considerable and instead of running around banging on things singing to the wizarding wireless he much preferred to play a game of chess with his mother or read up on exotic plants which quickly became a passion.
And continued to be his love when he entered Hogwarts and took his first Herbology lesson. He knew at once it was what he wanted to do for as long as he could see into the future. Which wasn’t very far for an eleven year old. But never the less his love for plants stayed with him all through his years at Hogwarts, he wasn’t the best student in all his subjects but in this he was a natural and made excellent grades. Other than his love for the subject Benji also managed to become the clown of his class and overall friend to all who would have him. He has that eccentric quirky quality about him that some find endearing. Which made for a nice life in Hogwarts, he found he liked it much more than he thought he ever would.
In Benji's sixth year several things took place that changed the boy irrevocably. Firstly and probably the best: he became much closer to his best mate Arnie. And because of Arnie he found it in himself to become more outgoing, in one way in particular: girls.
Which lead to the second thing that changed him: Willa. Willa Robbins was Benji’s first real girlfriend, and his first real heartbreak, as when she left Hogwarts she left him. And coming into his seventh and final year he still isn’t quite over it. He can’t remember what it was that broke the camel’s back but it had something to do with his jealousy over a certain Black and her need for a fresh start after school. Either way he is even more wary of girls now than he ever was; if even the sweet ones wring your heart then which ones were the good ones, the keepers?
And last and perhaps the most terrifying was his glimpse into the war raging beyond the castle walls. It was easy enough to separate what was going on in the real world and his life at Hogwarts. Not anymore.
‘Halfway through the summer Benji was bored, Arnie was with Doe as was usual (Benji found it hard to be around the loving couple), and his sister had taken his parents out for dinner since she was only in the country for a few weeks. So Benji had left near dusk to make the twenty minute walk to the village to meet up with Jackson, a muggle he had befriended when he first moved here from London as a child. He had called first of course and the other boy was exciting to see him saying he had the best new comics…
Benji could see the smoke rising as he crested the hill. Fear, white hot and all-consuming gripped his heart and moved his legs into a run. But it was useless; the whole village was engulfed in flames, and ominously a skull with a snake entwined in it hung in the sky. He had run to Jacksons as fast as he could and just before he reached it the burned remains had crumpled upon themselves. He stood there for a long time as pops of apparition signaled the arrival of Aruors, and they put out the remaining flames, and cleared the sky and still he stood, a resolve forming in his mind.’
So he had decided he would fight, he would prepare himself with this last year of school and when he graduated he would fight them. He would not let Jacksons death mean nothing. He would fight.
PERSONALITY
Though Benji is a Ravenclaw, he is not the one you find sitting in the library for hours on end. His grades are good, given his gift of memory, because if one graded the boy on study habits and dedication he would surely fail. He has too much of an easygoing fun way about him to be stressing over schoolwork as his housemates tend to do. The only trouble Benji has with his personality is the want to clam up when confronted with a female he likes. Girls in general are fine, but give him one he is interested in and he is completely clueless. Benji can often be found acting the fool, or stuttering like an idiot. Either way the near-man can always be found with a smile on his face and a swag in his step.

Style: Casual, jeans and comfortable t-shirts. Benji loves his leather jacket and boots. When not confined to a uniform he prefers muggle clothes and street fashion and is fond of dressing up in costume whenever allowed.
