Late June "Friday night, here we are again! Danick laughed as he led the way, looking back to Eddie with a smile. Responsing to that flier had been his best decision since arriving to Scotland, and had turn what would have been a dull summer into something much more fun. It was almost the end of June, which meant there wasn't much more time left on his father's dime. And tonight he was going to spend it on them both, as much as he could. He would lose his lid if he knew. Not like the man even saw a dent in his fortune with this trip anyway, but it didn't mean he couldn't try. He stopped to let Eddie catch up, draping an arm around the taller boy's shoulders. "Mi príncipe escocés, let's party like those.. what are they called here, Moogles?" Something strange like that, at least. "What sort of travesura do they get up to anyway?" Edinburgh was so fun, a much different sort of place than Brazil. They drinks here were awful, but he seemed to be the only one who thought so. At least, that was what the bartender who knew Spanish had told him, right before escorting him to the door the other night. Scottish people were odd, but he felt like perhaps this was how Willa had felt when she first came to Brazil. A bit awkward and out of place. With less alcohol, and certainly less charming bisexual boys to hang out with. But before he could carry on with his questions, another man had turned a corner near them. Not an issue, not until he passed by muttering quietly in a language Eddie wouldn't know. Unfortunately, one Danny did. "Tenha o respeito de dizer isso no meu rosto," he snapped angrily, grabbing the other mans arm as he removed his other from Eddie. "Por que você não foda." Anger creeping under his skin, Danny shoved the man back - resisting the urge to punch him was hard - and took a step back, waiting to see if this was going to turn into a fight. 1) My Scottish Prince 2) Mischief 3) Have the respect to say that to my face 4) Why don't you just f*ck off

“Did you miss us Friday? Because we missed you!” Eddie exclaimed joyously, smiling radiantly at his...well he wasn't quite sure what they were yet. He didn't know how to define them and that was okay with him; maybe they didn't need a definition. Either way he smiled at Danick, feeding into his fun and antics with his words. Eddie was having so much fun with the other boy, their joking and laughter came naturally and it was so refreshing. Especially after all the work it had been being in a relationship with Winnie.
They were walking through the city now, Danick a little ahead of him, treating Eddie to the most splendid bottom. They were both intent on a great night, and intent on each other. Especially when Danny wrapped his arm around Eddie's thin shoulders, calling him Mi príncipe escocés,- which Danny had said and Eddie had checked, meant 'My Scottish Prince'- the endearment had yet to fail in making him warm inside . Instinctively he reached out and slipped his hand into the darker boys back pocket, snuggling close. “Travesura?” Ed questioned the word, though he got the just of the question; it was still so strange and also still so supremely erotic to be seeing someone foreign, someone who spoke a different language and had to sexiest accent.
“You mean what do the muggles do for fun? Around here? All depends on what your scene is, I guess. They have a bar or a club for just about everything. I hear the underground clubs are the bee-neez, though, I've never been to one. Maybe we should try tracking one down tonight?” Eddie suggested, looking over to Dan and raising his brows in challenge. Danny was incredibly close, close enough to kiss...Eddie leaned in, forgetting subtly all together. But he never got the chance to follow through with his mission.
A man had been passing them, and as he passed he had said something in language Eddie didn't understand fully, and then Danny was gone from his side and Eddie felt sudden cold to the bone. Danny was practically spitting his words out -which Eddie couldn;t understand either, he really wished they would speak English so he could know what was going on- and then he was pushing this muggle! This random muggle! Who was this guy, getting up and looking like he was about to charge Danny?
The Hufflepuff stood with his mouth agape, staring like a deer caught in headlights, unable to think of a way to diffuse the situation. Part of him wanted to run over and apologize to the man -because violence was never okay- and then on the other side of his brain, he was drooling over how Danny looked in this very moment. And he knew, without knowing how he knew, that whatever that man had said had been nothing nice. Why else would Danick look ready to blow? Muscles tensed under his shirt, posed like a snake ready to strike. Danny's body radiated palpable vibrations of anger. Eddie had never seen him like this. Granted he had only know him for a few weeks, still, it was shocking and arousing all at once. But would he feel the same if this actually turned into a bloody fight? Eddie stepped forward, placing himself between Danny and the stranger. “Danick,” he said, laying a hand on the other boys arm. “Let's just go.”

He would have to remember to bring his camera with him on these trips, and find someone skilled enough in magic to develop them. A still photograph wouldn’t properly capture the way Eddie smiled, and certain not the emotion that was behind it. These were memories worth saving, plastered over the wall of his room at home with his Abuela, telling her the stories behind them. The only person who really understood him, for most of his life. Hugo had been the first friend he had made, the only friend who knew who his father was and why he lived with his grandmother. It was safer for people not to know, not when they knew who he was. But Scotland was different, there was no threat from his father here. No one would care about who’s bastard child he was, didn’t even know the meaning behind his last name. None of that mattered, especially as Eddie snuggled closer to him as they walked, the chills up his back a reminder of stupid his insides got at the simplest touch. This is what a summer fling felt like, simple, perfect and fun. He laughed at Eddie’s question, combination of his languages something he often didn’t notice. “Mischief,” he said, smirking at his companion. And in a moment when he just wanted to forget that other people existed, just wanting to share a kiss in public, it was ripped from underneath him by someone who couldn’t just let things be. And while he did not have any desire to get into a fight, he was sick and tired of words and phrases muttered under breathes. Tired of needing to keep his hands to himself. Not out of fear – he’d gotten over that one ages ago. Now that he was old enough, he’d not hestitate to protect himself or Eddie if it came down to that. Magic wasn’t to be used on muggles, but a memory charm would do a lot less damage that a full fight would. The man clearly thought he was funny, laughing at Danny’s words. It was bad enough dealing with this back at home, he didn’t need it here. He hadn’t realized how tense he had become, how much his heart was pounding until there was a touch on his arm, his eyes snapping to meet Eddie’s. “Yeah, yeah.” It was fine, just one drunk Scot who didn’t know how to keep his mouth shut. He nodded his head, reaching to grab Eddie’s hand as he turned his back. It took a lot to ignore the Portegeuse being spat at their backs, “Continue andando, Danick,” but he forced his mind elsewhere. The feeling of Eddie’s hand in his, the calmness that Eddie seemed to be spreading just by the fact he wasn’t reacting. “Underground clubs, yeah? I’m sure we can find out, sounds nice, good music.” If they just kept walking, they could just forget about this. No need to let it ruin the night, the guy didn’t seem like he was going to follow them. There was so much hatred, so much fear over something that wasn’t causing anyone else any harm. “What about playing at an underground club – think the boys would go for it?”Keep walking, Danick

Eddie stood, stomach lodged in his throat, waiting. Waiting for Danny to say he was right. Waiting for the other guy to back down. Waiting for this not to be a fight. Waiting for it to become a fight. He was just waiting for someone to do something. He knew it must not have been that long that they were all just standing around staring each other down, but it felt like an eternity. The man looked, and sounded, like the nasty sort. But he wasn't attacking, even though he had every right, Danick had laid hands on him first. Scott's usually didn't take too kindly to being pushed around. This one seemed to think it was funny. Or rather he was laughing, though nothing was really funny. Eddie feared it would provoke Danny further but... it didn't, thank Merlin!
He puffed out a relieved breath when a warm hand encompassed his own. Eddie wrapped his fingers around Danny's and gave him a tremulous smile as they both turned away from the almost-awful scene. And when the complete bugger behind them said something else in a language Eddie still didn't understand -English, people, please!- he squeezed Danny's hand tighter, leaning in a little, letting him know that it was all right, they were there for each other. Whoever that guy had been, he couldn't touch their souls, which were essentially good.
“You are so much better than he is, he wasn't worth it.” Eddie said when they were a safe distance away, walking into downtown proper. He looked at Danny squarely in the eye as he said it, so the other boy would know he was serious, passing over his nightclub and band comments momentarily. It would have hurt to see Danny on level with such a deplorable human being and Eddie was immensely glad he hadn't taken the altercation further. The boy felt light and more at ease with each step they took away from that Portuguese speaking ponce. Not that the language was the problem. Eddie made a mental note to later ask Danny what the man had said, now would probably not be a good time to ask.
“And yes and yes.” Eddie said with am easier smile. “Yes, I hear they have really good music and we should totally find one tonight, we need it. And yes again, because the boys with basically play anywhere they can get a gig. Well, not the old bitty home, Doug says the woman are randy as f*ck and won't leave him alone. He says it creeps him out and he won't go near there. He won't even go see his Mamó anymore.” Ed's mouth closed with a snap, nervous energy turning into a string of words. He pulled them to a stop, gesturing to the bar-front before them with his free hand he turned to Danny, always struck by how appealing he was. “This place is safe. For people like us, I mean. We can get up to as much travesura as we want.”

Not everything needs to turn into a fight, pequeño.1 Pero abuela, se burlaban de mí!2 Si, and they always will. Practice your English. Abuela, why do they hate me? You are different, pequeño, that is why.First it was bastard, shouted at him in Spanish on the streets. Then it was in Portegeuse, enough people at the school with knowledge of his last name to hassle him. It didn’t matter – none of them knew who his father was. But it had never stopped there. Every country had their words, in English it was often the word queer shouted from across streets. Hating the words never helped, you simply accepted them. You made them your own, so that they didn’t break you when you heard them on the street. What have I told you about this? I’m sorry, Abuela. What was it this time? What set you off? It…they. Abuela, I can’t say that sort of thing to you Danick, you are to old for this. They yell at you, but you let them win by reacting. They aren’t telling you anything you don’t already know. Walking away was the smart decision, the best decision. They were trying to have a good night, and decking some drunkard for being ignorant wasn’t going to help. But as much as he knew that, it did little to shake the anger he felt. The only thing grounding him was Eddie, leaning into him as they walked away. His attempt to distract from the situation hadn’t worked, and he was looking Eddie in the eye as the man spoke words that Danny could only hope were true. Why was it such a thing with Hufflepuffs, this endearing quality where they knew what to say to make a point, but not drag out a moment. And he did his best to keep up with Eddie’s words, the Scot speaking quickly and using odd phrases Danny wasn’t familiar with. Years of speaking the language, and yet he still got lost in the simplest of conversations. Perhaps what foreigners to his country felt like, although many of them were not as practiced in speaking anything other than English it seemed. And in moments like this, when Eddie slipped in new words he had been learning, Danny couldn’t help but smile. “Eddie, mi amado3, your words are like a conejito4,” Danny replied with a smile, taking a moment to look around the area in which they had stopped. Safe, that word was relative, but Danny wasn’t going to let the moment go by. He pulled Eddie to him, closing the distance between their lips in a swift motion. He needed to get lost in the other man’s taste, feel the warmth that came with each second. Whatever this was, whatever they were – it was good. And while he would be quite content to simply snog Eddie for the rest of the night (or any night, for that matter), they had things to get up to. And so he – relecutanly – pulled himself away, taking a moment to get his mind back into an acceptable topic place of conversation. “Eddie, I haven’t a clue what most of that meant. But we can avoid the old bittys and the women that are named Randy,” he answered sincerely, pleased with himself for his understanding. “Lead the way.”

Danny walked beside him so quietly that he began to worry a little. They had escaped a fight, well not really escaped, they had avoided a fight, but maybe the boy next to him wasn’t as happy about that as Eddie was. He really didn’t know the Brazilian that well, and was honestly wondering what was going through that handsome head of him. Maybe he was an aggressive sort and liked getting into physical altercations. Maybe Danny still felt disrespected in some way by whatever that guy had said. Perhaps, he was even a bit angry with the Hufflepuff for just wanting to leave it be. It could have been none or all of those things; Eddie had no way of knowing. Either way, the lighter man tried cheering him up, telling him how much more worth he had then that asshole muggle. To his surprise and pleasure, Danny seemed to accept his comment wholly, it was the truth after all.
As Dan spoke, Eddie recognized the words my love or maybe my beloved, but the end of his statement was lost on the Scot. What did those words mean? Eddie couldn’t think on it too long, however, his mind slipped out of focus and his body took over as Danny pulled him in for a kiss. What did it matter what the words meant, it was the feeling that counted, and Danny made him feel so much. Everywhere, down to his toes, he was aflame. And it was only a kiss. He hadn’t felt so much actually having sex. Before Danny could pull away Eddie managed a nip on his bottom lip and when they looked at each other after, he knew his eyes were telling their own tales of his desire.
They were both quiet for a moment. Eddie, for his part, was discussing with himself over how far he was willing to take things...intimately. He hadn’t been ready last summer, and that was more of an experiment anyway, he had still been figuring out what he liked then. But this summer, well things were different weren't they? Danny was different. And as he gazed at the slightly shorter boy he decided; he was more than willing and very much ready to go however far Danny wanted to. Even if it was a limited thing between them. Eddie wasn’t blind, he knew they couldn’t last. In no time at all he would be returning to Hogwarts where Danny could not follow, more than likely that would be the end of their affair. And that didn’t matter one bit to him. He found he much rather a few months with Danny than years with anyone else he had come across so far.
His thoughts were halted and a laughed ripped from his throat at Danny’s last. “Oh Dan!” Eddie exclaimed, passing a hand over his beau’s -in his opinion- ridiculously toned pectoral muscles. Seeing someone foreign was so many things, sexy and cute only being two of them, especially when the language barrier produced such amusing antidotes. Eddie shook his head and took up Danny’s hand, leading him into the bar. Once inside –which was noisier and full of colorful lights and half dressed men of varying ages and races – Eddie found them a spot at the bar, allowing Dan to take the only bar-stool available. While they waited to be served, he turned to his date. “Alright. 'Old bitty’s’ are just older women, like sixty, seventy years old. There are some convalescent homes in the area that would pay us a small amount to entertain them for a few hours. And their names aren’t Randy, they are randy.” Here Eddie blushed a little, ducking in to say the next part a little more quietly. “’Randy’ just means, ah….excited…sexually. Horny.”

Clearly he hadn't truly understood what Eddie had meant, judging from the laughter that greeted him. To be fair, it was hard to focus when Eddie had been staring at him with a look like that. But it would seem that he would have to wait for an answer, as Eddie was taking his hand and leading him in the bar. The scene inside wasn't exactly what he had been expecting, but to be fair he wasn't sure what he had thought. These sorts of places weren't exactly popping up across South America. But there were lights and colors, people from all different backgrounds. He would have to include this in his next letter to Hugo. His friend had decided to make the journey to England to try and win Willa's heart. So far it did not seem to be going well. He pulled himself from his thoughts, sitting down in the offered seat so that he could face Eddie. He nodded at the other boy's words, the information all falling into place. But he couldn't stop the chuckle that escaped him as Eddie blushed and leaned in to fully give him the definition of "Randy". But why a whisper, surely that was not the first time someone had uttered that word in this building. "Eddie," Danny asked, pulling the other boy gently towards him by his shirt, "Have you done this before?" Eddie was so confident with himself that Danny hadn't stopped to question if Eddie had actually dated someone of the same gender before, let alone done the kinds of things Danny had a desire to do. "Tell me where the line is, I don't want to do anything to hurt you."

The way Danny looked at him had Eddie's pulse quickening and his heart doing uneven beats. And when the other boy reached out and took his shirt, tugging him closer, he had to adjust his stance, for more reasons than one. Excited was an understatement. But at Danny's words...he clammed up. What if Danny didn't want anything to do with a novice? What if his inexperience in this field was a turn off? He didn't want this to end, not just yet, but the facts were the facts and Eddie knew he couldn't change them.
Luckily, his hunky Brazilians next words put him a little more at ease with the situation. He was comfortable enough to tuck himself between the other boys legs and twine an arm about his neck. “Well...” Eddie began, toying with the sleeve of Danny's shirt and avoiding his eye as best as possible in such close quarters. “No. Not really.” He admitted, feeling a tad nervous again now that the truth was out there. “I mean, last summer, I had a sort of thing with a guy, for the first time. But it was quick and...it never went beyond hanging out and kissing and some touching; and I didn't want it to go any further.”
Eddie bit his lip, his heart clenching at how much of an absolute sweetheart Dan was, not wanting to hurt him. It was a kind thing, and Eddie valued kindness. The next part of his question, however sweetly worded, made him even more nervous than the first part did. Because he could deal with rejection, Danny not wanting him because he was -for all intents and purposes- a virgin, he could get over that. If that's how he felt, then Eddie would be glad to have learned sooner rather than later. But confessing his most base desires...saying out loud what he had been thinking not an hour past...that was a terrifying notion. “I didn't want to do that with him. I...I think that I want to do that with you. No, I know it, I want to be with you. Oh, and by that, I mean, everything.”
There, it was out there, he had said it, out loud. Surprisingly, Eddie felt good about it, lighter even for having admitted it. He was never much one for hiding who he was. Honesty was almost nearly always the best option. Eddie smiled, relaxing a bit; the hard part was over, now he only needed to wait for Danny's reaction. All he had control over was his own reaction and that's all he tried to worry about. “What about you? I'm I – is this your first time?” He asked, feeling like he already knew the answer, but wanting to hear it anyway. Though, Dan's answer to the last question he had interested him most. “Now, tell me, where is the line for you?”

It was positively delightful to have Eddie this close to him, to be able to so intently focus on the other boys face. Studying every inch of it, trying to soak in this moment. To find an attractive bloke who was into him was one thing, to find a wizard was an entirely different one. A wizard who was in a band, who also happened to know one of his only friends from this side of the pond. If there was a higher power, he certainly knew exactly what Danny was looking for. But this was no more than a moment between them, a memory to cherish once he had to go home. Back to a country he wasn’t wanted, wasn’t even needed. Danny was used to being a fling, it was simply how he had always done things. Except when he dated Elena, but that had been different. They had been friends for ages, and he still hadn’t ever told her the truth about his life outside of school. There was no pretending with Eddie. He was simply the friend of Willa, former Castelbruxo student. It was nice, possibly even nice enough to let his guard down. He’d hate himself if he fell for the Scottish bloke, be miserable at the end of summer. And how could he keep himself from feeling anything, when prefect Eddie Brown was flat out admitteding desires, finally relaxing. Danny grinned, quite pleased with everything he had learned. There was nothing wrong with a lack of experience, teaching could be just as fun. He let himself chuckle, before closing the distance between their faces, losing himself in a kiss. It was only the annoyed noise of the bartender that caused him to stop, biting his lower lip before as he looked to the man impatiently waiting for an order. ”A Slow Screw,” Danny said with a laugh, looking back to Eddie with a smirk. Not his favorite drink by any means, but how could he pass up ordering it when his mind was undressing his partner. Once the bartender left, Danny fiddled with the edge of Eddie’s shirt still in his hand, contemplating the question. He’d never really set a boundary before, not in this sort of situation. “Afraid any lines I could have drawn passed me by a while ago, things are different back home.” There was a difference between going home with someone you met at a bar, as opposed to going home with someone you can to the bar with. ”I’ve never been more than a one night stand, and in a way that makes you my first...whatever we are.” ooc: here is where I found a list of popular disco drinks! Slow Screw is a screwdriver with gin instead of vodka!

Grinning, Eddie nodded to the bartender. "I'll have what he is having." he said and the man behind the bar gave a cheeky, knowing grin and the Hufflepuff actually blushed. Why did everything feel so sexually charged tonight? More than likely, it was just being in the presence of Danny and quite honestly, there were no complaints to be had. Ed liked the way they were touching each other lightly, seemingly innocently, with promises of more serious touches later being exchanged between them, Dan telling him a little of how his love life operated up until this point in time. Eddie couldn't lie that it turned him on further that Danny had the experience where he did not.
With a slow smile, the slighter boy leaned in and kissed the other boy, reaching a hand up to cup around his neck. It was short and sweet and when he pulled back it was with reluctance. "Whatever we are?" he said with a tease. He turned only slightly more serious as he toyed with the hair at the nap of his partner's hair and went on. "I'm going to safely say that you are definitely worth more than a one night stand. In my opinion at least. And, after tonight, I hope I get to call the two of us lovers, if that's alright with you." There. Bold and honestly and no room for misinterpretation. And also a blatant proposition for sex...Eddie felt no shame for it either, so much so that when their drinks came, he raised his up to the Brazilian next to him. "To tonight. Let it be ours."
