Juggling the door open with his foot, Danick caught it quickly with his arm, slipping inside as quietly as possible. He’d slipped out of bed early, determined to do something nice for his boyfriend. Unfortunately he wasn’t great about keeping food in their place, or cooking for that matter. So after pulling himself out of bed, head throbbing with a hangover, he’d managed to find something clean to wear and head down to the muggle market.

Pulling the groceries out of the bags in the kitchen, he hummed to himself quietly. He could handle eggs, probably. Bacon was a breeze and coffee - oh he had mastered that ages ago. He started the pot with a flick of his wand, before cursing loudly under his breath as he opened a cabinet to get a pan. Pots and pans went crashing on the ground, clattering about as he scrambled to catch what he could. How Eddie tolerated his terrible housekeeping schools, Danny was still trying to figure out.

Dishes put away, and bacon sizzling away he leaned back against the counter, staring at the single rose sitting in a vase. Was it too cheesy? The girl at the store had given him a hard time about waiting so long to get something for his Valentine, her attitude changing when the words boyfriend has slipt out of his mouth without a second thought. f*ck her, shes not worth the frustration.

A noise from across the house caught his attention, and he called out, “Baby you up?”

Eddie scrubbed vigorously at his teeth, staring blurrily in the bathroom mirror as he did, his mind still half asleep. Sounds of his boyfriend up early and making breakfast had stirred him before he was ready and now as he ambled out of the bathroom he was too sleepy to care about the loud bang the door made. He heard Danny call out and a sweet smile pulled at his mouth. Quicker now, he stole back into their bedroom, rummaging around in his sweats drawer until he came back up with the brown paper bag he had stuffed there last week. He pulled both shirts out and his on, carrying the other into the small kitchen with him, along with the small box stuffed into the back pocket of his jeans.

He was more awake now, and better prepared for seeing Danny -sometimes when the other woke him early in the morning, or in the middle of the night with kisses and love, well, Eddie was always breathless at his beauty. The former badger was still struck now, especially with Danick looking right at him like that, but not so much to be a puddle upon the floor. "Good morning." he said with an intimate smile, coming over and giving his boyfriend a kiss. "Happy Every Single Person's Nightmare Day! Congratulations on not being single. Here is a gift from your love."

Here, Eddie stood back to show the other his shirt, then held up the identical one Dan was meant to wear. "I know it's a ladies shirt, but they don't make them in men's. I think we're going to rock the pink though, honestly." Eddie handed it over to the Brazilian, eyeing his body blatantly as the former Hufflepuff pulled cups from the cupboard. He may have gotten some funny looks purchasing the pair of matching shirts, but it was worth it, Danny would look so sexy in it. And he would get to bask all day in his matching one. He turned to inspect the food -what a nice thing Danick had done, making them breakfast- his stomach rumbling at the smell, and his mind wanting coffee. He leaned back against the countered, resigned to have to wait for both when his eyes landed on the single rose on the table. He bit his lip to hide a giddy smile and said on impulse. "I love you."

Eddie deserved a much better life than Danny could give him. Danick wasn’t using his magical education for anything, instead picking up gigs and working as a muggle bartender when he got the chance. It wasn’t a glamorous life by any means, but it was a safe life. As much as it ate at him that there was a war waging in their world, they had to keep themselves safe first. So many friends were involved in the fight in some way - Doc and Hestia had joined some secret organization to fight Death Eaters. It was a noble cause, but he preferred his simple life with Edmund. They already faced enough because of their love, they didn’t need to involve themselves in something so dangerous.

“Good morning,” he murmured into the kiss, grinning at his boyfriend happily. Being apart for Eddie’s final year at school - and without knowing where he stood in Eddie’s life - had been complicated. Showing up to Eddie’s graduation and sneaking into the ball had been a risk, especially seeing as he hadn’t bothered to make sure his Scottish prince was available. But things had worked out, and they were celebrating a holiday today that was all about being with the person you loved. He took the shirt Eddie handed to him, his grin growing wider as he quickly yanked his current off to replace it with the gift. “Women always get better clothing,” he added with a laugh, before striking a pose to show off the shirt. “I love it, and everyone is going to hate how amazing we look.”

Breakfast was almost ready, and he hoped Eddie was hungry. It was far too much food for just two people, but that never seemed to stop them from eating it all. Turning back to his boyfriend after her spoke, Danny laughed before going to give Eddie another kiss, “I love you, meu principe escocês. You are so wonderful to me.” A beep from the coffee maker pulled his attention away, and within a few seconds the coffee pot was pouring them both a cup. “I don’t have work tonight, so there is nothing to take me away from you today.”

Waking up with Danick Amor was something Eddie promised himself he would never take for granted. Even if they actually made it out of this God-forsaken war, he would appreciate the man he loved every day like it might be their last, this solemn vow he made to himself every morning. This morning was no different, as they exchanged kisses and I love you's and corny t-shirts, Ed was nothing but glad of his life and his love. "That was my thinking exactly." he said with a wink. "Let them hate us because they can't be us." Eddie chuckled, sending a look Danny's way. They both knew that wasn't the reason people hated them, but they pretended anyway. People hated what they didn't understand or feared, and there was nothing either of them could do about that. So they surrounded themselves with the people who chose to love not hate them, and that was all they could do.

"Oh thank all the glitter in the world, coffee." the fairer man said as a mug was placed before him, he couldn't even eat before coffee. He took the first glorious sips, feeling the caffeine chase through his veins and smiled at his Brazilian babe. "You are the best." he assured him before the other went on about his plans for the evening. Eddie nodded along, grinning at their luck. "I too am off, but you knew that. Now, what should we do with a whole day and night to ourselves? And on V-day too. I mean I could think of a few things to keep us occupied or maybe we should visit some of our single girlfriends. Cheer them up with our awesomeness. Oh, maybe we should have a party!"

People didn’t hate them for the way they looked, that they both knew. Danick was used to being hated for who he was, but it was amazing how a little bit of love could sometimes make him forget all about the hate. When he was
with Eddie, everyday was just a little bit better than the one before it. When they were out together places, Danny would forget about the hatred around them sometimes, just so caught up in being in love. But there was always a harsh reminder of how out of place they were. Maybe a comment, maybe it was a dirty look someone shot their way. Muggle or magical, it didn’t matter, there would always be someone who had a problem with them.Chuta para canto*. No, his dear friend Mary was right to believe in love, because love made dealing with small minded people worth it.

He smiled at the compliment he was paid, although it was up for debate. Personally, Danick thought Eddie was the best. And there were plenty of things that Danny could think of for the two of them to get up to. And it seemed like Eddie’s mind was on the same page, at least for a moment. “A party?” he asked with a grin, turning back to look at his boyfriend. A party would be fun, and it it would be a good way to see their friends both in a relationship and single. “That sounds like a wonderful plan. We can invite Hestia and Doc, and Mary of course - can’t have a party without her. I’ll have to run to the store to get some more drinks, but I think we could pull this off tonight. Who else should we invite?”

A smile lit Eddie's face and he placed his cup carefully on the table to applaud their plan. Too much lately their world was tainting a dark shade and a party was just with they and all their friends needed. A whole list of people sprung to Eddie's mind but he doubted they could fit the entire Hogwarts class of nineteen ninety-nine in their flat or nineteen ninety-eight for that matter. Dan had managed to make friends with some lovely ladies who had graduated a year ahead of the former Hufflepuff and Eddie was happy to call them all friends now. They couldn't invite everyone but they could invite enough of their friends to make tonight amazing.

"And Ana." he said, thinking of one person that absolutely had to have. "Mary and the girls for sure. And maybe Arnie? Oh, gatinho, how are we ever going to narrow the list down?" he joked to his lover, sipping on his coffee. He looked around at the food, his stomach finally able to feel hunger over the smells of breakfast tickling at his nose now that his caffeine addiction was fed. He glanced across at Danny, thinking of his tones chest beneath the adorable shirt Eddie had given him. His mind hadn't been active enough when Dan had changed into his gift to salivate over his boyfriend.
Shame. Should really learn to  focus without this stuff.

Sometimes, Eddie wondered what Danny saw in him how Danny viewed him. Danick was fit and handsome and had beautiful Brazilian features and coloring. His god worthy good looks, he Greek physic, and his f*cking amazing personality: his man was a catch by any right. Eddie, on the other hand, was pale skinned and thin, his features were perfectly normal, if not a little boyish, and he had a disposition that while kind seemed unmemorable in his opinion. Who could ever forget Danick Amor? But, for whatever reason, Danny loved him and Eddie would never turn is nose up at that. Eddie loved him back in equal measure and they were happy, what more could one ask for? Bringing himself back to the present, he tapped at his ceramic mug, thinking. "Yes, we'll need more drinks. And maybe some snacks? While you do that, I'll be decorating. You think a disco ball would be too much? I'll also need to pick the perfect soundtrack for the night, that's very important after all. It set's the mood." He shot a saucy smirk  and knowing eye's Dan's way as he spoke. Memories of them and music and...other things, happily filling his mind.
