"Give it a go, Billy boy - Nana." Arthur guffawed genially as his son gave the repetition a fair-if-not-especially-earnest-due-to-confusion go, shaking his head as he turned to his in-laws. "We'll keep working on it, don't worry. I'm going to see how Molly's doing, can I get you anything? Bit of firewhiskey before the lads are here, Charles?" The offer was met with a laugh from the older man, who took up Bill as Arthur went to meet his industrious wife in the kitchen. Early February was a big string of events for the family, with his own birthday starting the month off, Valentine's the night before, and now the twins' birthday...It may have been with a little more love than usual that Arthur smiled upon seeing his darling finishing up decorations for the cake fit to feed an army, given the recent memory of holiday...celebrations. "What can I do for you, Molly dear?" he asked affectionately as he put an arm around her waist, disrupting the path of a mixing bowl on its way to the sink with his free hand so he could snag a bit of homemade frosting. Tonight truly was a special affair, and he was overjoyed to be hosting. Fabian and Gideon were dreadfully busy as of late with their year one of Auror training, and although Arthur saw them on occasion at the Ministry, social time was minimal. Having them around always meant a good night, and with the addition of their friends as well, their house would surely be full of merriment. And young Edgar was bringing his lady friend, who was also bringing a friend close to one of the twins, if he wasn't mistaken. This meant that two muggles were visiting their home, and while having a night without obvious magic would surely be tricky, Arthur was over the moon about the prospect of attempting to pass as a non-magic user and learn from them in turn. How fantastically intriguing! He and Molly had briefed her parents when they'd arrived, of course, and had done a thorough check of the house...with any luck, no one would become sloshed enough to accidentally reveal anything, and their son wouldn't choose tonight to show them his first signs of magic!

Swirl, swirl, pressure, release. Molly rose, stretching her back until she heard the muscles pop and crack there, and admired her handy work. A perfect border of hand piped icing and then just one more chocolate covered strawberry...and it was done! The young mother spun the cake around to inspect and appreciate it from all angles, satisfied with her work. Fabian and Gideon would love it, she was sure! How could they not when she had baked both of their favorites right in, and it was gorgeous. They were going to destroy it, and Molly couldn't have been happier about the idea of her most loved ones devouring her beautiful creation.
She smiled at her thoughts and then at her husband, as he entered the kitchen. Molly removed her messy apron, smoothed down her skirt, and slipped on her colorful jeweled jacket, feeling happy not to be with child at the moment. She did look quite nice, and so did her husband. And she felt quite nice too when Arthur scooped her up and intercepted the dirty dish. The woman giggled, leaning up to give her love a quick, passionate kiss. “Just love me.” she said in answer to his question. They had guest...they couldn't get on too well, like she wanted, so she pulled away and began setting out more dishes as they became ready.
“What can I do for you?” she countered when everything was laid out. “How are my parents and the children?” she added, giving a flick of her wand to summon the strong drinks from a top shelf where her boys couldn't get to them. She knew her father liked a measure of Firewhiskey, and she could do with a little something herself. It had been a fun and exciting, albeit hectic, month already and she could use a little relaxant. Besides, she wasn't pregnant or feeding her children with her body, she could drink. So she would, and this party would be an absolute blast, she would make it so. They needed this; this time together, this celebration, to keep them close. They all needed this.

Whether she was the only woman in the room or in a room of hundreds, if ever the situation arose, Molly would always stand out in the most magnificent way. He was a lucky man, Arthur knew, to have such a woman at his side - how was it that the most beautiful girl in his year at school had wanted to be with him, but she hadn't tired of him these years of merging their lives, grew more wonderful with each passing day, and had even given them a child? He'd struck gold, truly, for a woman like her to be content with little old him - and did his best to let her know that he hadn't forgotten it. So, returning her rather vigorous kiss was a delightful way to do just that. He was left grinning after she left his lips, chuckling as he buttoned up his vibrant muggle shirt. He couldn't very well be in his robes tonight, after all, what with the normalcy they needed to portray for their guests! Hopefully he'd put together a suitable ensemble, as he was quite pleased with what he'd managed! "I can do that," he returned, knowing better than to try and interfere with the system she had with the growing number of delectable smelling dishes, instead gathering drinks glasses as she levitated the Firewhiskey down from its hidden location. Arthur laid three of the small glasses out, pouring generous dollops in for them (while they'd started talking about having another child - how grand would it be to have a little girl running about? - there were no signs yet to keep his wife from enjoying a drink) as he replied. "Well, Bill's not too keen on making us look good as parents," he joked. "When's it they're supposed to start recognizing people and all that, do you know? But they're fine, amusing themselves with trying to get him to say this and that." Arthur lowered his voice unnecessarily as he went on, "And they're understanding of the need to be discreet tonight about you-know-what." The man beamed, handing a drink to the redheaded beaut. "How fantastic, all of this, isn't it? A proper treat! Thanks for putting everything together - amazing night ahead of us because of you, I just know it."(ooc: So many Weasley babies, gonna be difficult keeping this family straight XD I've put in pregnancy info into Arthur's timeline to help!)

It wasn’t everyday that you turned 19 years old, but today was their day. Not that there was anything particularly special about turning 19, other than how much fun celebrating his birthday was. Especially this year, with a party planned at Arthur and Molly’s place, and he was bringing a girl around. Not just any girl, but Kyra, the muggle girl who would catch on to magic if everyone wasn’t careful. Edgar was bringing Phoebe, which meant two muggles for Arthur to question and plenty of magic for them to all avoid. It was often he brought a girl around, especially when his parents would be in attendance. But he’d talked about her enough over the years, it seemed about proper time she meet the rest of his family. After years of whatever they had been, they were a thing now. Going on double dates with Edgar and Phoebe, going to surprise her after classes at Uni after getting her schedule from their friends. Valentine’s Day has been splendid, and he was eagerly making plans to celebrate her birthday later this month. Edgar was right, about how perfectly they seemed to fit together. School just hadn’t been the time for them, the distance was too much. But they had time and freedom and fun. Stopping outside the back door, he turned to look at his brother and the blonde, grin across his face. “You are gonna love our little nephew, he’s just the cutest baby.” Nudging the door open, he stopped as he saw the red hair of his sister, “Molls! Arthur!” He gave Kyra’s hand a squeeze as he looked between her and his family, “This is Kyra Thatcher, my girlfriend.”

Is this such a good idea?Walking away from her car, hand in Fabian’s, the weight of what was happening hit Kyra rather fully. While she'd had some notice, and a three hour car ride here, to figure it out, she'd happily been in denial beforehand. But she was out of time for that. She and Fabs were leaving their carefully crafted bubble. She’d been putting it off, this realization; Valentine’s had been a fabulous distraction, as had been trying to find an appropriate birthday gift (which she'd forgotten at the dorm in her hurry to leave after realizing her lateness, dammit), and figuring out what to wear tonight (that indecision the root of her lateness, naturally). But this, going into a birthday party with Fab and Gid’s family? This was...big. For them, this was the equivalent of going to the moon. (Which may have not even happened in reality, the jury was still out on those photos from the Americans.) Were they really ready for this? Thank God Phoebe will be here soon. But the university student bottled her worries, telling the butterflies in her stomach to go back to pupating, and smiled back as Fabian brought up his sister’s kid. While he hadn’t said it, if his attentiveness since they’d become an item was any indication, she had the feeling he was honestly excited to introduce her to his sister ( Molly.) and her husband ( Arthur.) and their son ( Bill.) and his parents ( ...f*ck it. Mr. and Mrs. Prewett will work.). She could do this. They could do this. Fabian let them into the house, and Kyra found herself in a kitchen with more character, odds and ends, nooks and crannies, than she could process all at once. Perhaps more importantly - Fabian was squeezing her hand as if he knew she needed grounding a call to attention and to stop her head from swiveling, and she was introduced to the kitchen's occupants. A stunning redhead who had to be Molly, and a man in coveralls and a tropical shirt ( What's that all about? Did we miss that it's a theme party?) who had to be Arthur. Both were holding small glasses of something strong, if the smell was any indication. Well - them getting liquored up can only help you give a good impression, eh?She bit her lip, containing a full on grin, at Fabian introducing her as his girlfriend. When's the shock of that going to wear off? "Thanks for letting me crash, I've been hearing about you for years. Molly, that jacket is amazing - where in the world did you find it?"

While the redhead had grown up in a muggle neighborhood and had absolutely no problem with the interesting non-magical folks, it still took some getting used to when he had to travel by muggle means. Yeah, you’d think it was f*cking slow too once you know how to apparate! But since they were in muggle mode for the day, Gideon understood the necessity of them driving three f*cking hours to Molly’ and Arthur’s place. Kyra’s car was just a tad snug for his long legs.
In hindsight though, perhaps the long drive was needed for the girl to calm her thoughts, not that Gideon actually voiced his thoughts, choosing to just be oblivious to what was probably inner turmoil for the two other occupants in the car. He had been to enough of his girlfriend’s parents’ house to know how it all felt. He did not envy them.
Of course, Fabian was over the moon about their relationship, and once a upon a time, Gideon had also been one of the guys chasing after his – likely soon to be one day – sister in law. And while it had hurt his ego a bit in the past to have his brother chosen over him, he quickly got over it, as two of the most important people in his life were happy and – despite the sh*t that they come up with – in love. Gideon could not be happier for the lovebirds, though he was honor-bound as a twin to give his brother hell most of the time. It was only natural!
“Hey Weasleys!” making his way through the door to greet his sister and her hubby, deciding it’s been too long since he’d saw the two and he’d make sure to visit more often when his schedule permitted.
He had been entertaining the idea of walking over to take Kyra’s other hand, standing there and mimicking his brother and all that to seem like the third party in their relationship, but apparently his twin had been even faster than him and just dropped the bomb on them all like that. Sure, why don’t you just ruin my fun Fab!
Maybe he could add “And mine too!” Yeah, that’d go over splendidly!
Though if he was honest with himself, he didn’t think his mother could stomach the idea of a threesome between her twins and their muggle friend. Yeah, not like you wouldn’t give the poor woman a heart attack. And on your birthday no less.
f*ck.
“Mum, Dad. How’s it going?” deciding to just give the couple their moment as he went to the living room in search of his parents and his adorable nephew. At least he was single. The former Gryffindor waved to his parents, exchanging pleasantries as he picked up his now not-so-light-weight nephew. “Looks like it's just you and me kiddo. We're in the same boat. Man you’re getting huge!”

Molly gave her husband a sanguine smile as she accepted her drink, enjoying the path the first sip burning down her throat. She did like a good stiff drink, she was her father's daughter in that way. "Good. I know how much mother hates hiding things, I'm glad she is doing this for Fab's." Of course, there was the Statue of Secrecy, which meant they were always hiding something from the world at large; it was altogether different, though, when you invited that ignorant world into your home. They would be hiding a huge part of themselves from Fabian's muggle girlfriend, and that was honestly -to all but Arthur- quite tough.
Speaking of the muggle...Molly pulled away from her love as her twin brothers entered, a blonde between them. Discreetly she sized the younger woman up as she gave each of her bothers a warm hug and a "Happy Birthday!", pointing Gideon to their parents in the living room as she pulled away from him. It was just Kyra and Fabian now and Molly knew she was smiling strangely. But, how was she supposed to handle this? Neither of her brothers brought girls home often, even less so was a girl who knew nothing about magic. She seemed nice enough though, complimenting Molly's favorite jacket, and she was want to like her on sight -she also looked like she needed a good feeding, which always enamoured her to people...but there was this wall of knowledge between them. The usually resourceful Gryffindor was unsure of how to overcome that.
"Thank you." Molly said earnestly, fingering her sleeve and resigning herself to push past this difference with grace. She was obviously important to her brother, Merlin they had been friends for how long now and Molly had never met her? Yes, definitely important; probably didn't want her scaring the muggle girl away. The red-head made a mental note to stop calling Kyra 'the muggle girl'. The young woman passed a look to her husband, her heart fluttering at his obvious excitement to be in the presence of an actual muggle in their home. Shaking her head she smiled brightly as she poured two more drinks, handing them off to her new guest. "You are not crashing dear, you were invited. And I got this number from the second-hand shop, they always have the best things for such good prices. Anyway, how was the drive over, not too bad?" See, she knew how to speak muggle!

"Aw, can't turn away a bloke in love," Arthur crooned in tease, knowing that even his sometimes rigid mother-in-law would do just about anything for her children. He laughed, sipping at the whiskey, glad that the twins' announcement of bringing muggles to the party had gone over as well as it had. They were family - they could be accommodating! Neither of the girls would be the wiser by night's end, and the twins could have all the friends over that they wanted. It was their birthday, after all! Now all Arthur had to do, really, was not let himself get too deep in the drink and start asking questions he "should" know answers to... Only moments later, he heard the rumbling of a car coming up the unused driveway, and Arthur grinned giddily in his excitement. He exchanged a look with his wife as Fabian opened the door, hand-in-hand with a blonde girl who must be this Kyra, the boys making themselves as at home in the Burrow as ever. He stole hugs from the lads after Molly released them, clapping Gideon on the back as he escaped to go see his folks, before turning his grin onto this Kyra as she spoke. He raised his brows to his wife at the admittedly odd look on her face, wondering what was tying up her tongue. Was it because she was a muggle? Or was it because this was someone her "little" brother was seeing? Be nice, Molly. I'm sure she means well.
Thankfully, the moment passed quickly, and Molly was shortly making proper muggle small talk as she got drinks for the new couple. Arthur laughed, proud of his lass, and wrapped an arm around around his brother-in-law's shoulders, shaking him a bit in jest. "We're glad you're all here - but come now Molly, a bad drive, with this one next to her? Couldn't be, you've got yourself a good one here," he assured the newcomer, shooting her a bright smile before releasing her beau. "Love cars, fascinated by them, really - what do you drive?" Arthur asked abruptly, his eagerness, unlike his magic, not something he could hide.

Things had been going so splendidly for them, surely this was something they could handle? He knew his brother-in-law was going to think Kyra was the cat's pajamas, especially if Fabian could get her talking about muggle conspiracy theories. He knew he was asking a lot of his family, to keep it all under wraps with not one - but two muggles coming to the party. Molly and Arthur had heard of the two girls before, but this was the first time bringing them around. Gideon was off to see their parents, and he gave Molly a squeeze as she greeted him. “Thanks big sis,” he whispered to her before backing up to stand with Kyra. The introduction seemed to go well, although Fabian could tell there was something off. He hadn’t considered how much he’d adjusted his world to involve the muggle one. Don’t worry Molls, it won’t be hard. Arthur was so easily entering the conversation, and Fabian had to give a laugh at the tease. He was fantastic company, but there was only so much to talk about when your brother was playing third wheel. “This cake looks amazing,” he said to Molly as Arthur started asking Kyra about her car - should have made a bet on what the bloke would bring up first - eyeing the dessert on the table with a grin.

Gideon was leaving them far too soon, just after hugging his sister and brother-in-law, and while Kyra didn’t exactly feel like she needed friends around to help her feel more settled...one fewer friendly face in the room was a little unnerving. Not that the other faces weren’t friendly - Molly and Arthur both were smiling, exchanging looks with each other, and Fabian was obviously pleased - and maybe it was because she was the only one without a hint of red hair, but she felt like FABIAN’S GIRLFRIEND was painted in fluorescent pink on her face. Like something was making her stick out, but not exactly in the best way. They don’t usually bring girls by. It’s just that. Molly’ll be protective of them like Liz is protective of you. It’s normal. So she did her best to fight through her nerves and compliment the hostess who, thankfully, was rewarding her with drinks. Kyra passed one of the little glasses to Fabs and, in its proximity, noted that it was some sort of whiskey. She raised it to the hosts and shot it back without hesitation, hoping it would bring her out of her head enough to calm down and enjoy herself. Her esteem of Fabian's sister grew instantly, because this was strong, and the woman had poured it like it was a glass of rosé. "Thrifting is my favorite, my sister and I do it whenever we can," she commented after a slight cough of recovery; before she could remark on the drive, Arthur was jumping in, and she had to grin in bemusement at seeing the older man pal around with Fabian. Her curiosity at what other newness she’d see and hear tonight overshadowed her nerves, and she slid her arm around Fabs' back familiarly when he was returned to her. Curiosity heightened, fire in her belly, reassurance at her side, she cocked a brow at Arthur's enthusiasm about cars. Some men really did love their automobiles, but unfortunately for him, her knowledge was limited to size, color, and memories. "Yeah? I don't really know the specifics, if I’m being honest. Borrowed it from my sister for the night, you're welcome to take a look if you want. Lots of history there," she said with a laugh. "Taught Fabs how to drive it last summer, narrowly avoided a disaster or two. But you're right - I was behind the wheel, so it wasn't a bad drive up." Kyra tickled his side to compliment her tease before returning her attention to the others. "Just lots of map work, haven’t been this way before. But Gideon nearly directed us to Wales!" she called towards the living room. "Swore they knew the way by memory, which is why the map was a distraction. But mixing up M4 and M25?" She had to laugh. These boys and their boarding school that hadn't prepared them for life - being driven around, not knowing how to read a map, going by landmarks they pointed out at the last moment... What did they teach you there?

“I can’t believe I’ve never met the Weasleys before,” Phoebe stated as she closed the car door behind her, looking at the house they had driven so far to visit. She had always known the twins had an older sister, she’d never met Molly or her husband Arthur. She’d heard plenty of course, considering she was one to pry about that sort of thing. Kyra’s siblings had been the closest thing she’d had to a sibling growing up, and after dating Edgar for as long as she had she felt like Roderick and Amelia were her own siblings. But she liked the stories, to hear about the things the Prewett siblings had gotten up to. And more than that, she was here for Kyra today. Fabian and Kyra were finally giving the whole dating thing a try, and meeting the family as the girlfriend was an intimidating task. “Is it strange if I’m really excited about seeing their nephew?” she asked as they neared the door, having heard plenty about the little boy. Young kids were so cute, and seeing Edgar hold them? She would be crazy to think that their future together didn’t include kids, because she knew he would be so good at being a father. Just not anytime soon, because she wasn’t going to college just for the fun of it. Edgar walked into the house without knocking - which was endearing that he felt so at home - and Phoebe smiled at the sight. It was such a cute home, and the two strangers in the kitchen had to be Arthur and Molly. “Oh, I could have told you they couldn’t read a map,” she teased her friend, stepping forward to give Kyra a quick hug. “You must be Molly and Arthur! I’ve heard so much about you two. I’m Phoebe, Edgar’s girlfriend.”

"It really is wild - you're already part of the family, have trouble remembering who you have or haven't met," Edgar returned with a smirk, jogging forward to catch his girlfriend's hand as they headed towards the Burrow. The Auror trainee didn't know what part of the night would yield the most entertainment - Arthur getting beside himself at having two muggle women at the house, Kyra drinking away her nerves while her boyfriend's family, maybe Molly would even let loose in front of her parents - but they were definitely in for a good time. While he knew that the day to tell Phoebe about magic was coming, it wasn't today, and he just hoped that the wizards and witches could pull this off. Then there's Bill, but...he hasn't started showing, has he? He turned to his little brunette with a grin as she brought up the kid on his mind, sending a wink her way. "Not strange at all. He's a sweet little thing, you'll love him." And you know I love how you look at me when I play with kids. "I know this was a trek, but I promise it'll be worth it." He swung open the kitchen door, heartened to see that her smile seemed as permanent as his own. Molly and Arthur were entertaining the new couple, Ed figured Gid was off somewhere playing with Bill, and - to a quick sweep of the place with his eyes - it seemed like everything magical was under wraps. So far, so good. He shot a cheeky grin to his best mate and reached out to clap him on the shoulder, proud of him for making such a big move by bringing Kyra along. To her credit, she didn't seem wholly out of her element; giving the twins hell about their lack of driving prowess wasn't unusual, after all. He let Phoebe's hand slide out of his as she went to greet the blonde, leaving him to wrap Molly in a hug. "Thank you for this," he whispered before giving her a kiss on the cheek, playfully dodging Arthur's hug before giving in, taking quite a bit of joy in lifting the older man up for a moment. "Look at you - look at this spread - Molly, can I just - " He was reaching towards the meticulously put together cake when Phoebe introduced herself, and just grinned as he stepped back, hand melodramatically to his heart. "My girlfriend - more like my heart, my soul," he interjected, excitement spurring his words faster. "Arthur, Molly, it's been a long time coming, you meeting her, so give it to me straight - did I talk her up enough?" Turning to Fabian, he went on in jest, "And where the hell is Gideon? You didn't leave him behind so you could have a night all about you, did you?"

Success. She had started an easy conversation about automobiles and it wasn't the least bit awkward- if one didn't count her husband's over-enthusiasm. She only hoped that as Kyra and Arthur chatted, she didn't become suspicious of his interest. That was something that she could not help and she doubted the blonde would immediately jump to /magic as being the cause for such behavior. Likely she would only see it as the innocent excitement of a lovely man. Molly wasn't allowed to dwell on her husband in conversation with a muggle for very long because soon enough her third brother, the not-legally-adopted one, was coming through the door with his own muggle girl. Phoebe. Phoebe and Kyra. Kyra and Phoebe. Kyra. Phoebe...not the muggle girls! "It's so lovely to meet you, Phoebe." she said earnestly to the girls greeting, simultaneously swatting away a wandering hand of Edgar's and giving him the eye for ever daring to touch her cake before dinner. But the boy man was no longer interested in the confectious concoction, he had eyes only for his brunette beauty. And the way he spoke to her and of her made Molly's heart instantly melt to the other woman. They all seemed to have such a rapport, Phoebe and Edgar and Fab and Kyra, they all so clearly loved one another in different ways and for once, Molly felt like she was on the outside looking in on her brother's lives. A pain of loss struck her but how could she be jealous when everyone was so clearly happy. So, she smiled brightly and squeezed Edgar's arm. "No, you failed to mention the extent of her beauty or her excellent taste in friends." Because it was clear from the way the other girls interacted that they were very good friends, then even teamed up to pick on Fabian's deplroable navigation skills. Molly could barely understand most of what she had said about their trip over, so had stayed silent, but she did laugh along as the pair Then her brothers were teasing one another and Molly was rolling her eyes, bustling over to pour more drinks, for Ed and Phoebe...and also for herself and for... "Kyra love, come to have a toast with Phoebe and I." she said as she doled out glasses. Molly came a little closer to the pair of muggles, feeling a little self-conscious, just in general, as if they would be able to smell the something off about her that was magic. But she guessed if they had been around the boys for this long, they had to be oblivious and she relaxed slightly, raising her glass. "To us, for surviving the Fearsome Threesome for this long, and hopefully a lot longer. To long happy lives and skinny thighs. Cheers!" Molly threw her drink back with a practiced hand, letting out a deep exhale and a chuckle. "Now, who's ready to meet the...parents?"

"You taught him to drive? Merl- bloody fantastic, that is, and I can't believe this is the first I'm hearing of it! You must tell me all about the experience, the both of you," Arthur said with excitement as he looked between the members of the new couple. While he knew his own first impression could be a bit much for some folks, and that first impressions were sometimes not all that they seemed - wanting to put the best if not the most authentic face forward and all - he had a good feeling about the pair. The energy between them, the comfort with each other, the teases - in a way he was reminded of being put into place by his own wife, and locked that nugget away for dissection another time. It made sense that Fabian would want a strong willed woman in his life, didn't it? Growing up with Molly and Virginia, after all, would do that to a lad. "M4 and M25? You don't say!" he exclaimed, doing his utmost to keep up with the conversation, even if he wasn't quite sure what every word out of the muggle girl's mouth meant. She had given him leave to observe the vehicle, which had painted her a page in his good books, but now could hardly be the time. Not when their party was growing merrier! The back-and-forth jest with wee Edgar left him laughing, and he heartily shook Phoebe's hand, exchanging a knowing look with Molly at the boy's introduction. Smitten. And a good thing too, for this was the girl he'd been mad for in school, wasn't it? "You did well, lad," he said with a chuckle as Molly swept the muggles away. He took up a tray of appetizers and grinned at the toast his wife gave. "Don't worry girls, you've got nothing to be afraid of - unless you've run off and gotten hitched already," he said, mostly in jest, although he felt that a wedding (or two) wasn't too far off. "Tell you what - if it starts getting hairy in there, you just wave me over and I'll distract them with that old story, remind them things always work out when it's done for love."
With a wink to his wife, Arthur side-stepped around her and exited the kitchen, leaving the newcomers to introduce themselves to the parents while he deposited the food and took up their son. Thankfully his relationship with the Prewett matriarch and patriarch had mended in recent years, given his following through on his word of intentions with their daughter. Not that he thought he'd need to dredge up the story - if help was needed, he could talk of anything else - but it was rather wonderful to sit back and realize how far they had all come. Nights like this came by too seldom to waste in worry about anything bigger than family, and while there was much on the wizard's mind outside of the moment, he did his best to put the negatives of recent weeks from his mind.

Taking the glass that Kyra passed for them, he wondered momentarily if he should warn her about the drink. It was firewhiskey, and it wasn’t something he’d ever drank with Kyra before. Giving her a grin to the toast, he downed the drink and stifled a laugh as she coughed, giving her a smile. Tonight was going to be a good night, how could it not be? It was his birthday, and all his birthdays were good. Wrapping an arm around her waist in return, he grinned between her and Arthur as she recounted the story of teaching him how to drive, laughing at the tickle to his waist and his brother-in-law’s enthusiasm. “I even have a license to drive, can’t believe I haven’t told you about this,” he said, grinning madly at Arthur. He’d had to forge some muggle documents for it, but it felt like a necessary step to keep up with the idea of them being muggle police. “But Gideon did indeed almost take us to Wales, really hard to get here when you can’t remember the difference between M4 and M25.” Fabian knew that this meant very little to Arthur, but he was quite proud of his brother-in-law for acting the part. Before they could continue talking about automobiles and highways, they were being joined by Phoebe and Edgar. He grinned to Phoebe’s tease, glad they were both here. Hopefully having her best friend around would ease some of Kyra’s nerves. Edgar was making him look bad, with his love struck introduction. “Oh we left Gid in London, after all mine’s the only important birthday,” he jested with Edgar, laughing as Gideon hollered a hello from the other room. “He can never let me have this day, I swear. Two minutes older and he makes it all about him.” Gideon was a good sport though, having to play third wheel to him and Kyra all the way from London. Molly was pouring more drinks, and Fabs kissed Kyra’s forehead before he let her go to his sister, rolling his eyes at her toast. Was it so hard to survive him and his brothers? Highly unlikely. But he had to laugh at Arthur, the fond memory of his sister’s wedding in his mind. He hadn’t been there of course, the two had eloped after graduation, and his parents had been less than pleased. His mother wanted to plan a wedding, and pick out dresses, and all sorts of things he’d listened to her vent about. Fabian just hoped that the idea of marriage wouldn’t come up tonight, because while he felt strongly for Kyra that was a step he simply wasn’t ready to take. Especially with her not knowing about magic. He followed Arthur into the other room, drink in hand, and gave his mother a kiss on the cheek before he went to hug his father. Turning to look for Kyra, he held out his hand to her with a smile. “Mum, Dad, this is Kyra.”
