The ground was still frozen from the snowfall the day prior, but Evan had recruited a few of his mates to go thaw out the grass at center pitch for his date with Bronwyn. It was his first Valentine's day with a proper girlfriend and although his mum was generally useless, she'd come in handy with a few pointers for the day (not that Evan would admit to having owled his mum about how to woo a girl). His dad had chimed in as well, pointing out that Evan would be required to marry well and produce an heir, and Bronwyn Nott would suffice if he didn't muck it up. Dad really knew how to encourage a lad. The idea of marrying was not one Evan wished to entertain at only 14 years of age, but if it were expected of him, he'd rather have a say in his would-be wife than end up with an arrangement leaving him with someone completely pathetic as his mum had been for his dad. Still, there was time to fret over marriage when he was older, and he most certainly wasn't looking at Wyn in that regard, but if he could show her a good time then the effort would be worth it. When she arrived, Bronwyn would be greeted with a picnic blanket, pastries and sweets nicked from the kitchens, and a bouquet cliché red roses resting against their quidditch brooms. Evan, readied with a bottle of cheap firewhiskey disguised as butterbeer, stood waiting on the pitch. "Trouble finding the place?" he asked with a chuckle as she appeared at the edge of the field, knowing she was more than familiar with the area. Not only had Wyn not ever missed a game as a spectator in their younger years, but she was on the Slytherin team with Evan now, both beaters, so he was sure she knew her way around the pitch just fine. It was another cold winter in Scotland, the sort of weather where most students stayed inside near their fires. But it was Valentine’s day, and her first one with a proper boyfriend. Before this year, she’d never really considered Evan as anything more than a friend, oftentimes finding herself annoyed by him in prior years. Maybe it was how good summer had been to him, but she found him more tolerable. Especially now that they were dating, something her father greatly approved of. Rosiers weren’t blood traitors, they were part of the Sacred 28. That mattered to Cantankerous Nott. Not that Bronwyn felt herself marrying Evan, merlin she didn’t even want to think about getting married. She had only turned 15 seven days ago, she was far too young to be paired off. Except she saw how it was, her peers from good families setting up arrangements. How long had Lydia and Charlie been together now? Or Rabastan stuck with Annette Greengrass at his side. Her father could make a decision any day about her future, and she felt if she had to be paired with someone Evan really wasn’t that bad. He understood her, and she liked that. They were a team on and off the pitch, and it felt nice. To have someone care about her, to curl up in the common room with. Evan knew what it was like to have a blood traitorous cousin attending the same school, both Marlene and Pandora an annoyance to them. She had been quite anxious about today, and what it meant for her to be in a relationship. She’d gone to Lydia for advice, and so carefully dressed in something that Lydia approved of, but that she could stand wearing. She was forced into dresses enough for balls, Ministry parties, and afternoon tea. Besides, Evan had invited her to the Quidditch pitch, and she wasn’t about to fly in a dress. Being in the air was one of her favorite things, and so she had to assume it was part of their date. The ground was frozen as she walked onto the pitch, a grin growing as teased her. “I may have asked for directions once or twice,” she said with a laugh, closing the distance between them. It was once she was close that she realized part of the pitch had been thawed, and there were snacks and roses and their brooms. She wrapped her arms around his waist in a hug, giving him a smile and a kiss. “This is so sweet Evan, happy valentine’s day.” She had debated with herself for a while on what to get him for this day, it didn’t feel right to not get him something. In the end, she had settled on a bottle of firewhiskey her friends had smuggled her at her request. She produced the bottle from her bag, giving him a smirk. “This should help keep us warm, although you’ve done a lovely job thawing the pitch.”

Her slender arms wrapped around his waist and he leaned down to meet her kiss. She was gorgeous, he could give her that, but instead he smiled childishly and replied "oh, is it Valentine's Day? Bollock, I best find my girlfriend then, sorry love..." He played as if he would be leaving her there but stopped shortly and pulled her back into him, giving her another kiss. Evan enjoyed toying with people, Bronwyn being no exception, but dating required a different sort of play than he would normally engage in. If he were to hurl insults, brag about having shagged her mum, or any way gotten physical with her like he did with his other mates, Evan wouldn't have a girlfriend to entertain on this very romantic day. Feigning unfaithfulness seemed the most logical conclusion to his dilemma. Wyn produced a bottle of firewhiskey and Evan couldn't keep back a bark of laughter. "Great minds," he mused aloud, turning away as he dug through the picnic basket and pulled out what appeared to be a bottle of butterbeer. He peeled back the false label to reveal that they had procured the same drink for each other. Kindred spirits in more ways than one. "If I drink too much you'll have to carry me over your shoulder back to the dormitory, but no funny business." He was ready for funny business, so long as it was the sort he was hoping for. Some of his mates were already doing it, though still others were deafeningly mum on the subject which means they'd likely not even felt up a girl yet. Evan had at least done that, and a bit more, but bragging rights only carried him so far. He was ready for the big show and hoped Bronwyn was as well. Two bottles of firewhiskey ought to help things along. Tagged: Bronwyn Nott Outfit: Dashing but ready to fly

It was so typical of Evan, to brush off her affection with a joke like that. Luckily, she expected nothing less of him and had been sure going into the relationship that Evan was going to continue to be himself. He had proven her correct, but the things that used to annoy her about him had started to grow on her. Even his terrible jokes and she rolled her eyes at him as he pretended like he was about to leave her on the pitch by herself. As if he could get and maintain two girlfriends. She smirked as he quickly returned, glad for another kiss and moment to just be a teenage girl. She’d always hated that Evan always smelled good, it had been so annoying before this year. Now it was simply one of her favorite things, and she hated that she had started to feel sappy. But emotions could easily be used against you if you weren’t careful, and she wasn’t willing to admit to Evan how much she’d actually started to like him. While she supposed she should have been surprised that Evan had also brought firewhiskey, she wasn’t. She did have to wonder though if his reasoning for bringing it was the same as hers. She’d just had her birthday, and it was totally normal for a 15-year-old to be interested in taking things further with her boyfriend, right? Snogging was nice, yes, but she wanted more than that. Bronwyn didn’t doubt that if she just came out and asked Evan, he’d agree to it. Books always made it seem like the first time should be romantic though, and what was more romantic than a whole holiday dedicated to it? Rolling her eyes at him, she sat down on the blanket with a smirk, “So only funny business out here on the pitch? I’ll keep that in mind.” Although it was cold, which might not be ideal. Still, they’d have the pitch to themselves and a dorm room? Not tonight.

Regardless of whether Wyn stated her feelings aloud or kept them to herself, Evan was arrogant enough to assume, perhaps rightfully so, that she was head over heels for him. Who wouldn't be, after all? Potter, he supposed, but he wouldn't be thinking about the handsome Gryffindor today. The only attractive person on his mind, besides himself, would be Bronwyn and he intended to make her feel all sorts of special things. A virgin's arrogance. "Oh, we've got a little exhibitionist on our hands," he said with a chuckle, wiggling his eyebrows at her in a way that showed he was amused but also not wholly against the idea, if it meant he got into her knickers. Sitting beside her on the blanket he'd prepared for them, Evan pulled the stopper from the bottle of firewhiskey he was holding and reached for one of the empty glasses beside them. "Best get you started early then," he said smoothly, pouring her a decent glass and passing it to her in exchange for the bottle she held. He was sure they could go through both bottles just the pair of them, but his previous joke about needing help back to the castle might become a bit of a prophecy if he wasn't careful. But then, Evan was rarely cautious about anything so it should have been unsurprising that the glass he poured for himself was even larger than the one he'd given his girlfriend. "Cheers, love. Happy valentines."Tagged: Bronwyn Nott Outfit: Dashing but ready to fly

If her friends knew how deep her feelings for Evan had started to run, they didn’t let it be known. It was easily assumed that Lydia was in love with Charlie, the two did have many moments that could be deemed sweet. Perhaps Dora and Violet knew, as they had been the ones to get the firewhiskey for her. She’d promised the girls she would fill them in on the date when she returned to her dorm tonight, although she was hoping it was more of an if she returned to her dorm. While she was more than willing to get things started on the pitch, even the best heating charms might not be enough to ward off the chill if she was unclothed. Besides, she had heard things about the cold and what it could do to boys, so really, she was thinking of Evan too. Better for her first time to be somewhere comfortable, and while she didn’t know if Evan had gone further than she had, she did suspect they were both on an even playing field in that area. She smirked at him as he joined her on the blanket, glad her idea was being taken so well. Whatever she had to do to have it happen tonight, she was going to do. It wasn’t that she wanted to be the first in her dorm to have sex, and she didn’t know if she would be, but she certainly didn’t want to be the last. Or worse, have a rumor go around that she was a complete prude in a relationship. Her reputation didn’t need to be tainted like that, especially when she wanted sex. Rolling her eyes at him as he passed her the glass, she watched with amusement as he poured a bigger glass for himself. “Cheers love,” she replied, clinking her glass to his. The first sip of firewhiskey was a rough one, but she’d learned that the hard way last year. She was more prepared for the burn this time and was glad her face didn’t contort in disgust like it had the first time she’d tried the alcoholic drink. This was the part though where it could get awkward if either one of them let it. Thankfully, Evan had brought a picnic basket in their brooms. Bronwyn was more interested in what else was in the picnic basket over flying because she’d hardly eaten dinner she had been so nervous about their date tonight. “Tell me you brought something sweet to snack on,” she teased him, reaching back to open the lid and peek inside. It was mostly sweets, and she adored him for that. She had a particular weakness for them, they just always hit the spot. “My favorites - you know, if you keep this up people might think you are sweet.”

The center of the pitch had been thawed and the blanket chosen specifically for its thickness and ability to retain a bit of warmth as he set up their wintery picnic, but a tingling chill ran across his back now that he was sitting. Not one to admit a mistake, Evan would be damned before he confessed to being cold out here, but he knew that the firewhiskey would help stave off the chill, and Wyn wouldn't notice if he used her for body heat under the guise of snogging...or more. He ran a hand over her leg as she peered into the picnic basket and asked after sweets. If he hadn't already known Wyn well enough to know that she was thought of sugar the same way a bloody niffler thought of gold, his mum had also made sure to impress upon him that sweets were a necessity for the day. He took a large swig of his firewhiskey as Bronwyn nearly complimented him. "Only very daft people," he replied with a childish grin and a wiggle of his eyebrows before taking another drink. Sweet was not really a word many people would use to describe Evan. Nor would they use the word caring, nice, or thoughtful. But he was being all of those things tonight, and Bronwyn would have to be an idiot to not think there was some motive behind it. Not that she was against the motives she suspected, taking things further than snogging had been on her mind. So she would take the cute picnic, and the sweets. He knew her well enough to know that sweets were the way to her heart, and tonight probably the way into her pants. Helping herself to a pastry, she closed the basket and scooted closer to Evan. Not just because it was cold, although even with the warming charms on the thawed ground there was a bit of a chill. It was nice, having her first real valentines day with a boyfriend. She’d taken all the advice she could get from her roommates and from the older girls, and she was prepared to make a move if Evan chickened out for any reason. “Well I suppose it’ s a good thing we aren’t friends with very many daft people,” she teased as she took a drink of her own firewhiskey, before resting her head against his shoulder. She knew what expectations they both had from their parents, but they were still both so young. Maybe Lydia was content being tied to Charlie, but Bronwyn did want to think she had the element of choice. And Evan did have her father’s approval, his family bloodline was considered pure enough for Cantankerous Nott. But being married? She couldn’t imagine it, she was content just staying in this moment with him and seeing where the night took them. “We have our game against Hufflepuff soon, I’m very much looking forward to crushing the Applebee twins.”

Bronwyn rested her head against his shoulder and he moved his hand further up her let to her thigh. "A handful, at most. Likely just Avery and Parkinson...." Evan chuckled, insulting her mates in a charming way that was sure to get him laid. Or, more likely, start a wee fight to get her worked up and in the mood to be physical. Her thigh was warm as she rested against him, and talking about their upcoming quidditch match should have captured his attention faster than the Ukrainian's seeker catching a snitch, but his thoughts were currently tied up in possible ways to get Wyn out of these tight little jean trousers that made her arse look heavenly but seemed a bit too tight to slip off easily. Had she planned this? Was this her way of warding off his advances or was she playing hard to get? Evan mumbled an agreement with her musings between sips of drink that burned his throat. "That'll be all but too easy," he agreed, thoughts still focused mostly on her trousers. "If you don't get any good hits in during the match, I'd be happy to arrange a little one on one for you and Bridg. Maybe in a nice mud pit. No bras. Merlin, I can picture it now." He grinned as he turned his face upward in faux reverie, though if the night went sour he could always return to that mental image later when his curtains were drawn around his fourposter.
