Life before his siblings, well it didn’t really exist, did it? Gracie was his earliest memory, his best friend, his whole life he had a big sister, life didn’t exist without her. He was just a tot was Arnie came along but in his mind, his younger brother had always been there, the memories before him were so vague. Being closer in age, he and Grace had a bond like no other, but his connection with Arnie was strong, just in a different way. They were /brothers. Most of his childhood was spent with his sister. Poking around Chelsea, experimenting with their magic. He and Grace spend so much time exploring, that he grew very fond of the muggles that surrounded them, even though he felt they did not always return the sentiment. Probably because they were so clearly different from the non-magic people. He was just a little bit too eccentric to be widely liked, despite the fact that he was funny and kind, he had just never…found his people—the open, accepting, fun-loving ones. One’s who refused to judge another and always offered a helping hand to those in need, and who could also tolerate his out-of-this-world personality. That was until he made it to Hogwarts at last and was sorted into Hufflepuff with his older sister. It was a huge relief to be with his best friend again and to finally, finally, be completely himself.
It kept him out of trouble too. He was getting quite bored of the local police calling his father every time they caught him loitering. The prefects were much easier to keep quiet when he was caught out after hours. More than once coming from late-night visits to Ravenclaw tower to see his brother, once he came along to Hogwarts. Initially, he was disappointed that Arnie wouldn’t be joining them in the den, but then he thought, there were just more opportunities for fun! He likes to think Arnie got his prankster ways from his older, cooler, brother. But Arnie had always had a more cunning approach to joking around that Wes could never master, if he was honest, he got some of his best work from his younger brother. After all, the youngest Peasegood always got one over on him, he had taken many ink splashes to the face when they were all still living together. He was more than happy to become a part of the pranking than on the receiving end of it with Arnie and his friends. That was mostly his life at school: exploring, fun, mischief, love, fun, more fun. Between his siblings and there friends and the many he made on his own, there was never a shortage of excitement. Wes is always up for a bit of fun. Unfortunately, this meant he didn’t put nearly enough time into his studies as he should have. And he wasn’t like Grace, who had known as long as he could remember that she wanted to be like Mum, a healer. She was made for it, and it was no surprise when she went into that profession after graduation. Wesley on the other hand was mostly confused.
He wasn’t sure what he wanted to do with his life, at first, and decided that he would take the time to find his place. That mostly included couch surfing with friends, experiments with the expansion of his mind, experiments with his sexuality, a little travel, a little trouble, and then somehow he found himself at the Ministry. Wes never took himself for a Ministry man but somehow, he fit. Working in the Muggle Relations Department made him feel like he was helping in some way like he had a purpose like he was really good at something. It was always interesting, always different, sometimes a little challenging, but always, always, fun.
